POOL CLEANER / MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Brief Description
The position of Pool Cleaner / Maintenance Technician consists of performing a range of pool cleaning, chemical treatment, equipment inspection, and minor repair tasks for residential and commercial clients. The goal is to ensure pools remain clean, chemically balanced, and properly functioning throughout all seasons.

🧼 TYPICAL TASKS

  • Performing weekly service visits to assigned pools

  • Taking a minimum of 4 “Before” photos upon arrival and 4 “After” photos upon completion

  • Skimming debris from water surface

  • Vacuuming and brushing pool walls and floors

  • Emptying skimmer and pump baskets

  • Testing and balancing pool water using appropriate chemicals (chlorine, pH adjusters, etc.)

  • Adding chemicals as needed, following safety guidelines

  • Cleaning pool filters (cartridge, DE, or sand)

  • Inspecting and reporting issues with pumps, filters, heaters, timers, and lights

  • Checking water levels and topping off if needed

  • Adjusting pool equipment settings (timers, valves, etc.)

  • Washing pool decks and surrounding surfaces as requested

  • Ensuring pool safety covers and gates are secured

  • Documenting all services performed via mobile app or company log

  • Reporting any visible damage, leaks, algae, pests, or potential hazards

  • Stocking pool chemicals and materials as needed

  • Dependability: Reliable, punctual, and consistent in service delivery

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of pool systems, chemical balancing, and filtration equipment

  • Attention to Detail: Identifying water clarity issues, chemical imbalances, and mechanical malfunctions

  • Safety Awareness: Proper handling and use of pool chemicals and electrical equipment

  • Professionalism: Respectful interaction with clients and appearance appropriate for residential settings

  • Confidentiality: Must keep client information and locations confidential

  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and work in hot outdoor conditions

  • Time Management: Ability to complete multiple daily service calls efficiently

📋 QUALIFICATIONS

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Prior experience in pool cleaning or pool maintenance preferred

  • Must have valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle

  • Must own a smartphone with camera and reliable communication ability

  • Must be able to pass a background check

  • Basic knowledge of pool chemical safety and treatment protocols

  • Must be able to work independently without supervision

  • Must comply with all health and safety regulations (e.g. OSHA and COVID-19 precautions)

  • Must be able to handle cleaning chemicals safely and according to manufacturer’s instructions

  • Pool Operator Certification (CPO) is a plus but not required

💼 COMPENSATION & CONTRACT DETAILS

  • 1099 Contractor Status: Responsible for managing and paying your own taxes

  • Starting Pay: $120/Pool/Month

  • Bonuses for consistent performance and positive client feedback

📍 LOCATION AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Work available throughout the metroplex

  • Majority of work is outdoors in variable weather conditions

  • Technicians are responsible for bringing their own tools and chemical storage unless otherwise provided
