RESIDENTIAL GENERAL CONTRACTOR

Brief Description
The position of Residential General Contractor consists of managing and performing a combination of construction, remodeling, and repair tasks across residential properties including single-family homes, multi-unit properties, and rental units such as Airbnb and investor rehabs. The contractor is expected to maintain a high level of quality, communication, and job site professionalism.

🔨 TYPICAL TASKS

Conducting detailed walk-throughs and site assessments

Demolition of interior and exterior components as needed

Framing, drywall, painting, and trim carpentry
-
Installing flooring: tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, etc.

Basic plumbing: installing or repairing sinks, faucets, water heaters
-
Basic electrical: replacing switches, outlets, light fixtures, or circuit troubleshooting
-
Cabinet installation, countertop fitting, and appliance hookups
-
Window and door installation or replacement
-
Exterior work: siding, gutters, light roofing repairs, fencing, landscaping
-
Coordinating specialty trades (e.g., licensed electricians, plumbers, HVAC)

Material procurement and budgeting
-
Adhering to timelines and scope of work agreements
-
Ensuring job site cleanliness and safety daily
-
Identifying and reporting issues such as structural damage, pests, or hazardous conditions
-
Taking a minimum of 6 “After” photos of each room and forwarding them to the Company email address

📋 QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years of experience in residential remodeling or general construction
-
Must possess or have access to basic contractor tools and a reliable vehicle
-
Ability to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders, and operate standard construction equipment

Knowledge of standard building codes and compliance expectations
-
Comfortable interpreting blueprints, plans, or scopes of work
-
Must own a smartphone with camera and email access

Must have a valid driver’s license
-
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
-
Must comply with all health and safety guidelines including COVID-19 precautions

Must be able to work independently or as part of a team without micromanagement

Must be 18 years or older

💼 CONTRACT STRUCTURE

1099 Independent Contractor Status: Contractors are responsible for managing and paying their own taxes
-
Project-Based or Ongoing Assignments Available
-
Pay Scale: Based on scope, project size, and skill category; starting rates typically range from 80%-85%.

Payout Frequency Depends on Client

Advancement: High-performing contractors may be fast-tracked to Site Lead or Regional Supervisor roles

📍 LOCATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Projects typically located throughout the Metroplex

Most projects are indoor residential homes; occasional outdoor repair or rehab work

Contractors are expected to maintain a professional, organized, and safe work area
